Brandon Smith

Brandon was born and raised in western Montana where his family introduced him to the splendors of Yellowstone and the Tetons at a very young age. He has been fortunate to call the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem home the vast majority of his life. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman while skiing and biking his way through university (and even going to class occasionally). After studying business and spending several years in the Bozeman area, he decided it was time to make his way to the south end of the ecosystem, to Jackson Hole, and explore that area more deeply. His early career was in Hospitality and Food and Beverage Management, but he eventually made the wise decision that showing visitors bison and elk, among other animals, was much more rewarding than feeding them to the visitors. He has now spent nearly two decades in the Jackson Hole area and has guided in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for over a decade. He deeply enjoys sharing his passion, stories, and knowledge of the area. His hopes are that his guests are inspired from this magnificent place and leave deeply awed.

When Brandon isn’t guiding, he is most likely out trying to find deep snow to ski in the winter. In the summer, you’ll find him on the trails, mountain biking, hiking, or doing trail maintenance. He also enjoys the peace out on the lakes and rivers through paddleboarding.

Brandon is a certified Wilderness First Responder.
