Camille Funke

Camille grew up in Chico, California and was born into a family of avid backpackers and river rafting guides. She spent her childhood exploring the Northern California ecosystem and developed a deep love of the animal life that inhabited it. Camille followed this passion by pursuing a B.S. in Zoology at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt. She spent years working as a zookeeper at Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka, California and spent a season at the Alaska Sealife Center in Seward, Alaska. Camille has worked with American Black Bears, Raccoons, Red Pandas, various species of hoofstock, Harbor Seals, Spotted Seals, Ringed Seals, Stellar Sea Lions, Northern River Otters, Northern Sea Otters and more. A large part of her duties as a zookeeper were educating guests on these animals and igniting a passion for preserving their species. Since moving to Jackson, Camille has developed a deep fascination and love for the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and cannot wait to share that love with others. In her spare time, Camille enjoys snowboarding, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her dog Shiloh.
